An early morning drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway outside of Asheville, NC, revealed this guy trying to eat his breakfast on the southbound lane. Heading north, I pulled over, rescued his breakfast [a still living bright red salamander, and photographed the owl, who glared at me quite some time, as he seemed a tad ticked off I freed his breakfast.
